I still think it's amazing

I've been a Kindle books reader for years now & always have a good gift card balance to buy ebooks thanks to pressies from family.
It still amazes me that with a few clicks & usually less than 30 seconds I've got a new book in my library ready to read. :D

Ditto on all coun, nts but I usually buy 6-10 books at a time.
The funny thing is that a lot of French don't know what a 'liseuse' is, although there are plenty of ebooks in French.

I resisted a Kindle (like all modern gadgets it seems) for ages but did eventually get one and they are incredibly useful. So much lighter than having a book in my bag - if it will fit (I like small bags). You can adjust the print size and of course they're usually cheaper than the printed copy.

Both being avid readers, here kindle rules, not enough space left in our house for paper books.
Mami's kindle registered in uk for books in english, my tablet with a kindle app registered here for french ones.
Both linked to share all books.

Being an avid reader all my life I much prefer books but as I get through so many the price of books and the difficulty in obtaining what I want renders kindle invaluable. To have a collection, in my case, of over 500 books in a small device is, as LAF says, incredible.

I love my kindle, as Blaze says it’s so much lighter to carry around and I can have a selection of genres to dip into.
My kindle is registered to a UK account and I subscribe to kindle unlimited, so I’m able to pick up easy reads for outdoor summer reading.
However I’m contemplating treating myself to a basic model to register to a French account and continue my language learning journey.

A great feature of a kindle is that if you are reading a book in French you can simply touch a word you don’t know and the translation appears in the dictionary

Do you actually get to keep the books you have paid for? I mean can you store them somewhere apart from on the Kindle or are you simply reading them from "the cloud" where your access can be deleted?
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

They're stored on my Android tablet's Kindle library & afaik there for as long as I want 'em to be. Once downloaded a book is permanent & can be read anywhere as internet access is not required.
The beauty of the system is that you can synchronise the book you're reading with any other Kindle app/device registered to you so easy to put the current book onto say a phone (even you might like that idea ;) ) for easy access when out & about. I always do this for funerals & doctors where waiting around is expected.
Lots of free books & not expensive to buy others. 3-5 euros seems to be about average.
Worth downloading app to have a look at what's available.
