Naylor's Ark wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 10:34 am What do they gain by cancelling your appointment?
It seems a lot of trouble to go to for no monetary gain.
If she had clicked on the link in the email, she could have opened her computer to a virus or a number of other things. This is often how hackers gain access to the personal data on your computer. That can then lead them to your money.
Blaze said it was a " no reply" email. Therefore no link!
It was a "no reply" email, but there was a button for a new RDV. The time of the "cancelled RDV" was 15 mins later than the RDV planned.

Oh, that makes sense then. I never click on email redirects.
Best to go to the actual web site and check.

Sorry, but no reply does not mean no link.

Clicking on the link is not trying to reply to the email but could lead to problems. Don't do it!!!

Take a closer look at the senders email address , either by hovering the cursor over it or expanding the address. This can often tell you more about where the email came from.

So true. Last year, I got an email from what looked like my bank. It was telling me I needed to activate my new debit card. It looked so incredibly real (and I had recently received a new card - but I had already activated it), right down to including the actual bank phone number/details.

However, when I hovered over the senders info., it was the bank name, missing one letter. I called my bank and they asked me to send it to them. It was not them. So, they can be really clever in their attempts to hack you.

Since the scammer had your RDV details they must have had access to your practioner’s system. You should inform them. Our analysis lab was hacked last year and patient info stolen. The lab received a heavy fine

@rabbit I rang the Centre d'Imagerie to see whether my appointment had in fact been cancelled, and they were surprised as nothing had changed. They didn't seem very concerned.
