Good job if

a) You know someone with the right machine, and
b) There's actually room to accommodate it!

Most of the hedges I do for clients, there's hardly room for little ol' me with a hedge trimmer, let alone anything else!!

I gave up on mine. It's about three times the height of the OP's. The top third is growing around a wire. I was intending to chip away at it when I could but now I'm told there's no hedge cutting allowed after 1st April. The inside is partly restricted access and the outside (near the road) is a steep slope where it is very difficult to get a foothold. I'm thinking just leave it, and when the authorities take action and send me the bill I'll ask for an instalment deal to pay it off.

Can someone point me in the direction of the law re hedge trimming I seem to recall something about it being illegal to trim/cut between April and the end of July? We have a red robin hedge that's gone berserk upwards and needs a trim!

Another 2 hours today with the fauchage machine & the field is looking tidy again. 5 hours machine work in total for job which would have taken me at least a week if it didn't kill me.

Very neat. Would you fancy making a marathon trip down here to have a go at our hedges? Probably would only take you a week to get here!
