I’ve had to cut the grass twice in a week. If it had been left any longer between cuts it would have been far harder to manage with my mowers. Once April arrives it’s always been a cut every 5-7 days up until at least June when the grass slows down. Once a month would mean knee high grass during the spring.

That just wouldn't work for us, or our clients. It must grow exceedingly fast in your garden. Sometimes even our big ride-on mowers struggle - but clients won't pay to have their lawns "ex-fields" cut every week. Especially with the fuel hike.

Strange, my fast growing grass is not too far from your location, perhaps it’s down to the great sedimentary soils in the river valley where I live. I have a reasonably powerful V twin Husqvarna ride on but it won’t cope unless I mow as frequently as I have to. The first cut this year was with a three wheeled brush cutter as it has the ability to deal with longer/thicker grass reasonably well, it’s a very slow process however. If I left my grass as long as you suggest it would need cutting with a topper and all the clearing up that requires. The spring is the worst time as it all tends to slow down significantly in the summer. My neighbour uses a robot which does a great job in her garden.

One of our clients has something similar - and you're right, it hates anything longer than a couple of inches long! Our Kubotas seem to cope ok - one better than the other, thank goodness! Otherwise we just wouldn't be able to do it. I wonder if the clients are going to be happy with a slight price hike - to cover extra fuel costs!

In the summer months when the grass needs a trim and I need some exercise I even use this little mower.

I find that ridiculous DB. That field is good for hay, you don't need so much lawn to lay on, it's even bigger than a couple of football fields. Is it set aside for cricket matches?

I disagree. Buying your own space is a personal choice, as is the way you choose to use it. DB is surely allowed to do what he likes with his land without having to justify it !!

Love the wall - and it is for DB to decide how to manage - so long as no laws broken.

And I used to mow an acre or so with a pedestrian mower - great for picking up leaves etc as well as clippings - make a big compost heap - and great exercise.

You have no appreciation of scale then, it’s nowhere near that big. I sorry you don’t like it but for me it’s ideal.
