Cold calls & spam emails

Training courses seems to be a favourite right now. I never let them get far enough to find out what it is going to cost but I am sure it would.

I'm another one who doesn't answer the phone unless I know the number - they'll leave a message if it's important and I can phone back if I choose to do so.

We don't get any cold calls. We have a call blocker with a message in English asking them to identify themselves. If they don't bother, or don't display a number our phone just doesn't ring to pester us. Friends and anyone we have whitelisted get through to ring and then they are invited to leave a message if we don't pick up...
Every day or so there will be some sort of scam email on the PC claiming to be some official site wanting to give me a refund for something but I gave up believing in Father Christmas decades ago so I set a spam filter against the source of those.

I haven't the faintest idea what the callers are trying to sell because I never answer and they never leave a message ... surprise surprise.

Lately, it's what look like private 09 numbers waffling on about training courses.

@Liz we receive an average of 3/4 calls per day from numbers that are known arnaques which we don't answer and they never leave a message - All the usual spam emails with the most recent purporting to come from PayPal threatening to close our account if we don't confirm bank details. We have never used PayPal
