Global warming in France (Cantal)

In the 1800s, one year the Cantal had snow on the ground for eigth months.
Since the mid sixties, winters have been getting milder.
Eighties and nighties a lot less ice and snow.

After we sold up our business in the Lot we decided to move further west as the winters were somewhat cold, down to minus 12 or 15c?
We purchased here 30 mins south of Bergerac and on looking round everyone said that its very mild in the winter never more than minus 2 or 5c.
Our first winter 2011 it was down to minus 15c,
never the same since thank god, since it been mostly wet winters,

Rarely goes much below freezing here, 50kms N of Perigueux and 80Kms S of Limoges. Some winters we never see snow and if we do it rarely lasts more than a day.

Mind you, I can't speak for the neighbours, we have our own little micro climate, protected from the N and E by close (2metres away) forest.
