Mmmm, that still stings. Especially when you keep an eye on comparitive temperatures in UK and SW France and UK is warmer. But that still begs the question as to whether Brit pensioners will receive the indemnité contre l'inflation and if so, how?

This is the letter I got from them;

Dans le contexte actuel inédit de forte hausse du prix des énergies, le Gouvernement a mis en place plusieurs mesures pour protéger les consommateurs :
- le bouclier tarifaire pour le gaz et l’électricité : les tarifs réglementés de vente du gaz seront gelés à leur niveau du mois d'octobre et la hausse des tarifs réglementés de l'électricité prévue en février prochain sera limitée à 4%.

- le versement d’une indemnité inflation exceptionnelle d'un montant de 100 euros qui sera versée aux Français gagnant moins de 2 000 euros net par mois, soit 38 millions de personnes, afin de les aider à faire face à la hausse des prix, notamment des carburants.

Pour vous aider à faire face à cette situation inédite, le Gouvernement a également décidé de vous attribuer, un chèque énergie supplémentaire exceptionnel de 100€, en complément de celui que vous avez reçu au printemps dernier.

Ce nouveau chèque énergie exceptionnel vous sera envoyé en décembre, vous n’avez aucune démarche à effectuer.

Si vous avez demandé la pré-affectation de votre chèque énergie 2021 initial, c'est-à-dire le versement automatique à votre fournisseur d'énergie, alors ce chèque énergie exceptionnel sera aussi versé à ce fournisseur. Si vous avez changé de fournisseur entre temps, alors le chèque énergie exceptionnel vous sera envoyé par voie postale. Vous n'en perdrez pas le bénéfice.

Si vous avez changé d'adresse depuis l'envoi de votre chèque énergie 2021 initial, vous devez attendre la distribution des chèques énergie exceptionnels en décembre avant d'indiquer votre changement d'adresse à l'Agence de services et de paiement : soit en appelant l'assistance utilisateurs au 0 805 204 805, soit en faisant une déclaration de perte ou de vol sur le site Internet du chèque énergie.

Thanks, Char. Yes, we've had a mail and the chèque energie is sorted. (A nice surprise...I missed that in the Pres's speech). But it's looking increasingly unlikely that we'll get the Icl'I. Even though we're Francais, our only source of income is a British pension. Mince alors.... That would have covered at least a tank and a half of diesel

An interesting definition of 'really needy'. Working-age people already employed and already benefitting from various primes. Those already touching the sécu, and an extra mobility benefit to unemployed and job-seekers (youth-training scheme participants?) on a case by case basis. That's going to leave a lot of elderly people out in the cold, perhaps literally.

Are you sure that it's not in relation to the chèque energie, Doug? As thrashed out above, that's a completely separate bouilloire de poisson The Indemnité inflation was/is more about combatting silly carburant prices than paying the energy bills.
