Have always done my own ramonage, never a problem.
But it was part of my business back in uk.
Isn't it the law now for all chimneys to be lined? The fire burns so much better and is much safer.

During 'the season' I use Poudre de Ramonage on my two lined chimneys.
the chimneys have a tee piece & cap at the bottom & every few weeks I take off the cap to chuck the goudron which accumulates there & which you can hear rattling down the stack when a fire is lit & the flexible liner expands & contracts.
I collect a fair bit during the season & an easy sweep with a nylon brush once a year brings down any reluctant goudron with two passes up -down leaving the inside clean & quite shiney in places.

I contacted my ramoner and asked them to provide me with the arrêt stipulating the requirement for 2 cleans per year. (I found the préfectoral arrêt for 47 and it says 1 per year)

Blah blah back pedal back pedal.In 47, it isn’t obligatoire, it is recommended (by the fire manufacturer) if your installation is noted as running badly, which ours isn’t.

We have a steel liner and our wood is 3 years cured before it is used. We also use powder once a week on the fire to keep the flue from de clogging.

All I get for Ramonage19 is a list of companies that do it. Nothing about rules and regs.

What I said was gleaned from when I had previously looked up our regulations for 56.

It's generally 2 per year, one in the "use" period. If you put "ramonage" + your département number, you'll get the regulations for your area.

No complaint from me .. I had previously looked up the regulations appropriate to us here in Morbihan.

I don't think MAD is selling their house, they are a Traducteur assermenté and translate legal documents for other people.
