Window Cleaners - do they exist in France?

We're about to update our bathroom which is in dire need. For the first time ever, we've decided to get someone else to do the work. We have no intention of messing with rusting iron pipes and carting tiles upstairs and we're at the age and stage where we'd rather spend our time doing things other than DIY. The windows get a lick and a promise when we think about it. That said, now we have a doggie again, the glazed garden doors need cleaning more often ....

I'm more than happy to give people employment and the chèque emploi system is brilliant for casual work.

We just installed a new bathroom upstairs Blaze. We are very pleased with it. Though I'm sure costs have gone up everywhere, we were pleasantly surprised at how much cheaper it was to have the work done here than in the Vaucluse. And, we reserved the plumber, electrician and plaquiste in September 2022 to begin in January 2023 (one month after we purchased the house) and they all started right on time and finished much faster than we had anticipated. Happy all the way around.

Lori - the shower tray is raised up and it's a big step over the bottom bar of the sliding doors and into the porcelaine shower tray which can be slippery. The small radiator under the window is totally inadequate and badly placed.
The tiler and plumber work together and OH is happy to do the electrical work which isn't too complicated.
And it will be nice to get away from dark tiles, particularly as the bathroom faces north.

OH and I each have small English and French pensions which we top up with investment income, so we're far from being rich. Health problems make housework difficult for me, hence the help after a hard-working life.

P'raps I need to sober up as well - even though I don't drink, because it sounded like a blanket condemnation to me as well. I think MAD deserves an apology for that remark tbh.

Now I've been laid up in bed crook for the last week and a half, so with a raging temperature this might come out wrong. But .............. Due to life's circumstances whether hard work luck or bad luck some people will always be better off than others, it's not their fault so I don't understand the antagonism, no-one on here makes out they're any better than anyone else it's not as if the forum is full of landed gentry for heavens sake.

I'd be a very sad person if I went through life being upset and jealous because most people have got more money than I have. Look on the bright side at least you have a life to enjoy.

You can always keep hobnobbing with the effluent. I'm still here. Seriously considering getting someone to help with the garden and maybe in the house......even if I do have to give up on a bottle or two a day of Inter's finest Côtes du Rhône.

I think it’s always worth mentioning that different people have different attitudes when it comes to paying others for services. I know plenty of people who have enough money to pay for cleaners and gardeners but are content living in a mess and I also know others with much less who prioritise paying for assistance where I see no need. In my opinion it’s not a case of those with lots of money doing one thing and the hard done by missing out.

@Blaze Ask the artisan (if you haven't alr eady) to put 'personnes agrées' on the devis and facture, so that you get the grant available for such work. I can't now remember whether it was a crédit d'impôt or a straight grant, but t was a very welcome dollop of dosh.
