OH has just opened today's post. He's just given me this letter that was addressed to him but is actually for me! I see it was dated 11 Jan. Ever wonder if you're coming or going

There would appear to be 9 centres in Essonne with "créneaux" for Wednesday available and obviously for later dates.
Departmental location based on your CPAM communication.
Centres are geared up for online RDVs.
Liberal professional operators are not.

Around here, most centres will accept people in vulnerable groups (for example more elderly) without an rdv. which as I have posted before is just as well since the local system (not doctolib) demands a Francophone mobile number to register and even allowing for not-spots, of which we have many, most in that age group do not have a mobile.

Particularly with Pfizer which has extraordinary low temperature parameters.

Not necessarily, the vaccine centres have been dealing with non rdvs for while now and they slot them in-between those who have rdvs.

It's just a reminder from CPAM to make sure that people understand the need for a 3rd dose ..
I got an email saying the same thing (just after my 3rd dose) .. I appreciated their reminder ..

We accept people without RDV because we want as many people as possible to be vaccinated. We get our supplies from the hospital so no problem with Pfizer, which is particularly important for the under 30s who cannot be done with Moderna. The sans RDV are generally offset by the people who don't turn up (rarely an apology) and those who are turned down for some reason or other.
Our centre is open for vaccination Monday to Friday all day (except lunchtime) and PCR Monday to Saturday (except lunchtime). So each centre is run differently, it's a question of finding one that suits the need. Rural areas are more likely to have fewer places doing vaccinations so unsurprisingly people will have to travel further.

Potentially yes. Practically not really. Our local station had slots for unplanned visitors on the basis of 1 unplanned to 2 with rdv. (I asked). They do give priority to those with a rdv which I think is totally reasonable but it means waiting times for those without a rdv is short.

Those numbers may well reflect the point I made earlier about the number hereabouts who cannot make a rdv by virtue of no mobile or indeed no internet - our average age profile will certainly be above the national average. So that means if they have a session where they can do 300 injections only 200 are available to be booked.

The application Tous Anti Covid is available for Android & Apple devices.
The app is updated frequently with information in addition to storing all ones Covid information. The app is widely used in france by millions of french citizens.
Particularly useful is that it can be used in English. After installation, scroll down to the very last page. Click on paramètres and to open the Settings. Select Langue and click on the English option......... And everything will be in English.

Parthenay used to have a hospital but in the last 5 years a new hospital has been built and opened in the North Deux-sevres bocage, some 30 kms away. Effectively replacing the previous 3 hospitals at Bressuire, Parthenay and Thouars.
Parthenay has a population of only just over 10,000 so the Vaccination Centre has limited resources adjoining the Urgences which is still operational.
In fact I popped in there hoping for non RDV 1st & 2nd dose, but was told to either phone or go to new hospital at Faye L'Abesse.
But I discovered Vite Ma Dose and my problems were solved.
