Wonder how long it will be before Starmer starts to get roped in

Well he was Director of Public Prosecutions when both JS and Fayed were being investigated.

He claims they never crossed his desk - maybe surprising that such big cases didn't - but that is what he says.

Starmer was too busy down Saville Row getting fitted for his freebies no doubt, but what about Fayed's family nothing from them, possibly lying low and saying nothing, and where is the presumed compensation coming from, Harrods as a company or Fayed's fortune

I find that hard to believe!
I remember having a decision of mine - not to prosecute - overturned by a 'commitee' of CPS bigwigs. Boots had developed a reel of film taken some distance from a playground with, presumably, a long lens, showing a troupe of brownies on the swings and roundabouts. The only evidence was the wind blowing up their dresses to show their knickers. Nothing else. Not nice, but not criminal.
The chief bigwig told me thaat he recognised the troupe as his daughter's... I wished him luck with the prosecution. It was eventually rightly chucked out.

That was also in the era when the "short skirt - she was asking for it" philosophy reigned.
However, Fayed was apparently reported in 2009 and 2015, when things had at last changed, so one has to ask why an investigation wasn't launched.

Surely the answer as to why there was no prosecution is simply that such cases are a one versus one description of events. One of the ones had extreme wealth and would employ the very best lawyers who would pick so many holes in a case as to make prosecution pointless.

What does seem to have been lacking is the joining of dots or rather accusations to bring a multiple prosecution where the ones add up to become several, perhaps many versus the one rich (and therefore powerful) individual. Perhaps the CPS did try but found past complainants unwilling to resurrect the trauma of a nasty experience - especially after the previous rejection.
