works a treat
Thank you so much for that tip. I'll give it a try on my next label removal.

That's pretty funny niemeyjt. Don't think they'd get away with it these days.

Reminds me of the tip to use Dishwasher Rinse Aid to remove cloudy stains on glass shower doors. Works really well.

And this is supposedly a genuine advert from 1964 (without the hyphen)
https://fullfact.org/online/wd-40-innuendo/ This isn’t a real ad. It was created as a joke. More explanation on that page.

We use lighter fluid.

White spirit works but takes longer to evaporate.

Sticky Stuff Remover. We've used it for years, 100% successful.

I use ‘Sticky Stuff Remover’ too, which seems to last forever - the pot here in the Gard is at least 15 years old and is still effective. Works on chewing gum, tar and wax crayons as well, claimed to work on wet paint as well.

However, if there’s already WD40 in the house, there’s no need for a separate product; I’ve never used WD40 for the purpose, had never heard of that use for it until now.

Frightening things these MSDSs. In the hands of people who do not understand them they can create near panic.

Here is the one for salt - yes the stuff you put on your chips:

and household bleach might make you think you need to wear a hazmat suit to use it:

"Skin Contact - Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes"

Get outta here, it's one of the best hand cleaners there is, been using it literally for decades and zero ill effects.
