Blue Monday

Then her colleague told her the correct size to use - but it now had to go in the other arm.

Things can only get better . . .

I have that problem as my veins are very narrow, but last week’s blood sample was achieved in 3 goes with 3 different staff having a go - much better than the previous 7 attempts at that hospital after a second visit for the same sample. My worst experience was eventually achieved in a different UK hospital at the 10th attempt guided using an ultrasound machine - and all in the same arm, as I can’t have any needles etc in my left arm.

Worst of all was at our local hospital at Nîmes, when it seemed to be my fault that nurses couldn’t find a vein willing to be used after several tries in my one arm available. Having been taken in as an emergency case overnight, the nurses’ superior had to be phoned at home very early on the Saturday morning for permission to use a foot - I never did understand why a superior wasn’t actually on duty.

Even worse, they had to phone her again on the Sunday morning for permission to use the other foot as more blood samples were needed. I’ve never had a foot used at a hospital in the UK, thank goodness - I found it very painful. Luckily no further needles were needed and boy was I glad!

Blue Monday or how to sell the dream of sunny beaches when it's chilly outside and above us not only sky but also plenty of clouds.

A travel company's dream has come true.

Someone needs to tell Dr. Barry that on the date in question the nights are not short. It is the days that are short.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.
