Why am I getting so emotional watching the DDAY event?
I wasn't here during the war, but my parents were. My Dad, now passed served in the Merchant Navy, he rarely talked about the war but in clamming up about it I was very aware of the nightmares he had.
So I guess I'm emotional because it makes me think of what he, and all others who went through it experienced.

I know what you mean.
Its the humility, nobility and readiness to sacrifice that the vets display that catches you. Traits sadly lacking in many of todays younger generation.

It's the sound of ambulances that get me. Always wondering where is my child.
I get it MOTM2. I haven't watched the ceremonies, but I'm sure I'd be right there with you.
