Prescription anomalies

#1 Post by hughnique »

I picked up a script for other half yesterday and went to our normal local pharmacie to get it dispensed. Basically Antalnox 2 a day for 8 days,16 tablets in a pack, Esomeprazole 2 a day for 8 days to counteract the effects of the first one, 2 packs containing 7 in a pack total then 14, so she is 2 tablets short, and the pharmacist has written 8 on the front of the box supposedly to indicate that the pack contains eight, which neither does. Should I go back and demand the other 2 tablets as they are obviously required. Then on the reverse it has my name and surname, my DOB but OH's social security number, bit strange??

Go back just before they last ones are used and ask for more to complete the prescribed amount.

I frequently only get part of the prescribed amount and it is never an issue. I have also been prescribed something for 7 days and am given one tube - which is enough for 5-6 days. No problem getting a second tube.

I think the woman that is serving in there at the moment is a stand in for the regular couple, and a right sour faced moo she is. I did return and explained I had been short changed she was very apologetic asked how OH was coping with the morphine she had been given as well, and then suddenly broke in to fluent English, just as well I didn't open my normally big mouth and start slagging her off in English, anyway she gave me another packet of 7 so all's well, apart from the patient, very quiet in our house at the moment. Still we have been there a few times before, with her back troubles, it's not until she is indisposed that you realise just what she does normally.

Good that the prescription has been sorted out. I was sorry to read about your wife’s back problem, that can be so incapacitating. Sending her good wishes, hoping that her pain will lessen soon.
