Buying a property in France still plenty of bargains about

#1 Post by mysty »

We bought this old hotel last December, the guy renting it torched it when the owner wanted to sell so he did not end up with much money.
This property was in the Cantal by Salers, very pretty countryside.

90% of the roof has gone, it has tin sheeting covering the roof.
Its a gut job inside.
The last picture is the top floor where the roof was

Oo-er It's a bit more than a touch of paint here and there then.

How do you decide where to start on a project like that?

Trust me it is, I will reduce the size of a couple of pictures and post them. The fire damage was just on the top floor and roof.

We first saw it two and a half years ago but it took that long to buy it. It has a new owner now who will be renovating it.

Ats cleaned the cobwebs and wall paper from the hallway, I replaced a rotten beam on the ground floor.
We put it up for sale and sold it during lock down.
The origional plan was to convert it into holiday appartments but with covid that would have been a disaster.
Trying to cut down the amount of work we are doing and just buying and selling.
