Dung heap spuds

This year we raked out a level patch of last year's dung, planted some seed spuds, covered it up with grass cuttings & hay & let nature take its course.
Best spuds we've ever grown with fabulous recolt. This is just a small portion of total expected.

Excellent and look pretty unblemished! What sort are they?

I tried that last year on a spot where the horse manure used to be. I had enormous plants, loads of leaf, but tiny spuds. I'm trying again this year on both the same type of soil and a less rich soil, they have not come into flower yet so I cannot say which is best.

I do miss growing our own spuds. The ones in the shops have been pretty dire recently.

Very clean & dug out by hand.
Planting in the flattened out dung heap was a last minute thought where not many seed spuds were still available so it was done in a rush, I grabbed whatever I could & we can't remember what I bought or what was planted where.

They look like Bintjes, if there is no argument, then the eyes have it.
