One of our grand daughters has just turned 16 & wants to visit us in a few weeks travelling solo from Plymouth by Britany ferries.
Living in France with a CdS we're not up to speed on the current regs for visitors so can any of you kind folk help us out?

Assuming she has a passport -no problem. It will be stamped on entry and exit by the French. Time limit of 90 days in 180. There are restrictions on bringing goods into France which are detailed on UK gov web sites.
Hope that helps

It would be sensible to have a letter signed by the parents authorising travel with their contact information (and possibly copies of their passports).

See the other requirements in the paragraphs following At French border control regarding documentation and accommodation invitation
https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advic ... quirements

An attestation d’accueil may not be necessary but you should provide a letter of invitation to stay.

Assuming she has a valid passport - i.e one less than 10 years old and with at least 3 months (IIRC) remaining. The former will be easy for a 16yo as she will have only had children's five-year passports - but she does need to check its expiry date vs travel dates.

The only other thing is health - does the EHIC replacement work for under 18s?

I did an Atestation d’Accueil for my daughter earlier this year. It was not asked for but at least she had it as insurance. I recorded the number of my Titre de Sejour also.
