if only........

With this hand, I will lift your sorrows. Your cup will never be empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle, I will light your way into darkness. With this ring, I ask you to be mine.........The Corpse Bride

At least Herault have banned fireworks from tomorrow untill the 16th. I suspect that will be extended if the conditions don't change.

We had a humdinger of orages last night for 2 hours and at last we’ve had some rain. It looks as though we’re in for more of both today.
I just hope the temperature begins to fall, yesterday afternoon it was between 38°and 40°🥵🥵🥵.

where are you? Im down in Herault cooler and a bit cloudy today, but the last rain where we actually collected any water was 10th may.

We have 8000ltrs of storage tanks, and a intex pool that holds about 7000ltr. Usually I put the pool up in April, fill it from the tanks, then we usually get enough rain to refill the tanks giving us a 15000ltr storage for the garden, and good use out of the pool, before the tanks run out. It also gives us backup incase of fire.

This year, I put the pool up in April, then only collected about another 2500ltrs of rain, before the heat came in, i have already robbed 2000ltr from the pool, and about to do the same again.

We’ve also had some rain this morning, a welcomed relief.

Storms close by but actually bypassed us - but still close enough to trip the electricity once. We did however get a little rain and like @Chappers51 this was the first of any since mid-May

Last night there was half an hour of rain – a thunderstorm. By early this morning, there was hardly any sign of it left. Back to the new normal.

We had what seemed like a tropical storm last night with torrential rain, lightening, thunder, hailstones and very strong winds.

It filled up our water butts nicely, but our small hamlet and ourselves had damage with fallen trees, a neighbour had a tree fall onto his electric gate taking it out, we had 2 large trees snapped in half and a telephone pole fell into the corner of our garden.

So much damage to about 5 houses and a campsite we have around the corner of the lane.

Today, humid, but sunny and 34 degrees again, you would never know what happened apart from all the fallen trees.

That sounds nasty, MOTM - hopefully no more damage has been found today and everyone escaped with no injuries.

Today is the last of the hot weather, 29C and sunny all day, down to 25C forecast for tomorrow and nights are cooler now, though our bedroom is reading 27C at the moment. I’ve just got in and turned the fans and mobile aircon on so it should drop a couple of degrees by bedtime.
