Reducing plastic packaging ...

Instead of penalising the consumer they should put pressure on the manufacturers to find alternatives. Not just plastics but paper and cardboard as well. So many things are double and triple wrapped. It is all waste and has to be dealt with. Charging more and more for disposal here in France can only lead to more illegal bonfires at home and fly tipping. One day our roadsides will look like they do in UK. Such a shame.

Justto exemplify that Bayleaf. I buy lots of cat food on line. Generally the weight of the consignment is around 24kg cat food. Total tare 29kg! So 5kg packaging. Sachets in a cardboard box, cardboard boxes together in a cardboard carton, two cartons in a delivery box. AS a logistics person I do understand why it is like that but as a normal person I have to ask if there isn't a better way.

I leave most of my packaging at the supermarket - they provide it so they can deal with it's disposal.

Our tap water (which we do drink) does not come carbonated and is relatively poor in minerals.

Our tap water is OK to drink so we never buy bottles unless we are on a long car journey ( those were the days)
