Not relevant to your travel issues but:
I flew from Manchester about 10 days ago - through security in 5 minutes.
Some friends travelled yesterday (Bank Holiday Friday) and it took 15 mins.
Not sure if there are still problems with baggage but passage through security seems to have improved somewhat.
